IBM's school-based ABA therapy brings clinical support directly into the classroom, where children ages 5 to 15 spend the majority of their day. BACB-certified RBTs work alongside teachers and school staff to provide individualized 1:1 support during real classroom moments, helping children navigate transitions, build peer relationships, follow classroom routines, and manage behaviors that interfere with learning. IBM does not send a classroom aide and step back - our BCBAs provide ongoing oversight through observations, individualized behavior support plans, IEP participation, and consistent staff training.
For children who struggle in the school environment, the gap between what they are capable of and what they are able to demonstrate in the classroom can be significant. IBM's school-based services are designed to close that gap, equipping children with the specific skills they need to participate meaningfully in their educational setting while giving teachers and staff the tools to support them consistently throughout the entire school day.
IBM deploys BACB-certified RBTs directly into your child's classroom or daycare setting to provide 1:1 support throughout the school day. IBM's BCBAs oversee all school-based services through regular classroom observations, individualized behavior support plan development, IEP meeting participation, and ongoing staff training and coaching. Progress is tracked through continuous data collection and reviewed regularly to ensure interventions are working.
IBM's school-based services address a wide range of challenges that interfere with educational success, including aggression toward peers or staff, elopement from the classroom, noncompliance with teacher instructions, difficulty with transitions between activities, social interaction deficits, communication barriers, attention and focus difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and self-care needs within the school setting. IBM targets the specific behaviors and skill gaps that are preventing your child from fully participating in their educational environment.
IBM works with the school team, not around it. BCBAs conduct classroom observations, develop individualized behavior support plans based on functional behavior assessments, and train teachers and support staff on implementation strategies. IBM also monitors treatment fidelity, meaning we verify that strategies are being implemented correctly and consistently throughout the school day, not just during IBM sessions.
Yes, IBM's BCBAs participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing clinical data, behavioral observations, and recommendations that ensure your child's individualized education plan reflects their actual needs and the interventions that are working. IBM collaborates closely with school teams to align goals and create a consistent support system across both the educational and therapeutic environments.
