Center-based therapy refers to therapy or a treatment model that takes place in a dedicated facility or therapy center, rather than in the individual’s home or other settings. This approach is used for therapies such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as other forms of developmental or therapeutic services.
In a center-based setting, individuals attend therapy sessions at a facility designed specifically for structured intervention.
The center is equipped with therapy rooms, tools, toys, and resources tailored to support the individual child's specific therapeutic goals.
It often involves one-on-one therapy, small group sessions, or a combination of both.
Structured Environment:
Therapy takes place in a highly controlled and distraction-free environment to promote focus and consistency.
Dedicated Resources:
The center provides access to specialized equipment, materials, and therapy tools that can be tailored to each child's development and interest.
Qualified Staff:
Led by trained professionals, such as Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) who conduct continuous oversight and monitoring of the treatment integrity of the IPOCs.
Registered Behavior Therapists (RBTs).
Peer Interaction:
Opportunities for socialization and group-based learning with peers.
Individualized Treatment:
Therapy is tailored to the individual’s goals and progress which developed based on the child's individual assessments.
