Our social skills curriculum utilizes a variety of tools to include the following:
Teaching social skills effectively involves a combination of explicit instruction, modeling, practice, and reinforcement. Our curriculum utilizes a combination of methods to include: direct instruction, modeling, role playing, social stories, games/activities, visual cues/prompts, group activities, problem solving, feedback, positive reinforcement, and of course patience and consistency.
Each session will include teaching, review, and practice of each skill that has been previously taught. Student proficiency data is collected each session to determine progress of each skill and/or need for additional training.
All social skills group sessions are conducted center-based. Prior to being assigned to a group, our experienced team will conduct an assessment to determine your child's social needs. Based on this assessment, your child will receive a social training plan of care and will be assigned to a group that best matches his/her needs.
If you are interested in having your child enrolled into a social skills group, please contact us below. We look forward to working with your family.
